My arms are stretched wide as if I were pretending to be an airplane for balance as I put one foot in front of the other- heel, toe, heel, toe. I wasn't scared that a train would run me over as I waltzed easily along the rails- trains never came through town anymore. I hum to myself with the beat of an Like Moths To Flames song that blares through my ear buds before I sing- or, well, scream. It was one of the few talents I had that didn't involve school subjects. "Don't speak my name like it belongs in your mouth, When everything's the same I just want something else. What makes you better than me?" I break off and tilt my head towards the sky, my blue eyes blinking in the light of the sun before looking into the surrounding forest. I stop and step into the center of the tracks before lowering myself into the sitting position and putting my arms behind my head, a small pure white sliver of the stomach showing- my shirt was a size too small, and it might've just been the position of it was bunched under me or something. I pull out my MP3 and lay it on my stomach, closing my eyes happily. It was Saturday, so I wouldn't have to deal with the kids at school for the rest of today and tomorrow. Over a day free from the digs about how I lived in the tree house (how poor was I?) and my general appearance (ever think of a hair cut or a comb?). Yeah, the weekends were the best.
