"Okay," I reply, nodding a bit as I start out of the room and down the hallway. I pull open the closet door and grab a hanger to put it on before sticking it back in and shutting the door. I run a hand through my long black hair before walking back, blinking at Derek. "You okay...?" I ask softly, shuffling over and dropping down beside him. I reach for his hands, taking one in either of mine, a small frown on my face.

Derek gasped softly, gripping her hands tightly as he took them. His teeth gritted and he pressed his firehead to the floor, shaking his ead slightly in response.

A wince crosses my visage as his larger hands hold mine tightly, my bones moving together. "What's wrong?" I question, a note of fear in my voice. What was Derek doing, he just seemed to be having some sort of spaz attack. How did I fix it? I had no clue. Finally I pull my hands out of his to wrap my arms around him, holding him tightly.

"Nothing.." Derek choked, tensing as the screaming and laughing grew louder. It would have been a funny sight, her hugging him. But it gave him the strength to fight back, find reality, and he let out a shaky breath. His teeth ground together and after a moment he calmed, body shaking. He didn't pull away. "I'm sorry... I'm not crazy, I'm sorry..."

I almost hit him when he replies that it was 'nothing'. It was most fucking certainly not nothing. "Shhh, don't be sorry," I coo, hoping to calm Derek down. What the fuck was up with this dude? But, it hit some sort of part of me that made my want to hold him and comfort him- which was exactly what I was doing. I run a hand down his back, resting my head on his shoulder.

'Look how weak you are.' A chorus of laughter and Derek's teeth ground together. The tension eventually faded and he swallowed, too ashamed to look her in the eyes. He unfisted his hands slowly, focused on the beat of her heart. "Thanks kiddo.." He whispered.

I keep him to me, afraid to let him go. Afraid he'd go crazy again. I roll my dark brown eyes as Derek calls me 'kiddo'. "Don't ever call me that again," I huff, finally rocking abck on my heels, pushing my long black hair out of my face. My eyes roamed over his features, looking for any hint of insanity there.. I didn't see anything.. just.. a face. No outward sign of his clearly inward troubles.

Derek smiled crookedly, pleased at a reaction, a distraction... He sat up with a grunt, running a hand through his hair to settle it down before sighing.

I sit back on my butt as he sits up, my long black hair falling in a curtain around my face. "Anyway," I huff, pushing the locks back. My dark brown eyes study Derek for a moment. I was concerned about him, I really and truly was. I didn't know why I seemed to care about his well-being so much, but I didn't want him to get hurt.

"Hmm..." Derek sighed softly, wandering to the kitchen and opening the fridge. He snagged a beer and cracked the top off, drinking down half the bottle before wanderig back. He dropped onto the couch. "I have xbox or whatever," He mumble halfheartedy. "I could kick your ass at some Mario Kart."

I blink as he gets up and I stare at the spot where he had been mere seconds ago before getting to my feet. I dust my butt off self consciously before plopping back down on the couch, looking down at my lap absently. My dark brown eyes fall on Derek's face as he returns, beer in hand. "Is that a challenge?" I question, raising my eyebrows threateningly at him.

"Damn straight," He challenged, smiling a bit and taking a heavy swallow of his beer. He got up to flip it on and grabbed two remotes before dropping back onto the couch again.
